Morning Program takes place at 9:30 am - 9:45 am on the above dates. During this time, the whole school meets in the gym for a brief special assembly in which we acknowledge special student accomplishments, view special grade level performances, celebrate student birthdays and award monthly class awards from some of our special area teachers. Parents are always invited on the days that their child's grade is performing. During this time, we also introduce the book of the month for the coming month and briefly discuss the school-wide theme for that month. We consider ourselves a family at Forest Lake and it is during this special time each month that we come together and celebrate the accomplishments of our family!

History of our Morning Programs

Our Morning Program is a special tradition at Forest Lake Elementary School that was started by Dr. Smith, the first principal at our school, as a way to bring the whole school community together.  Each month, the entire school gathers to celebrate Bucket Fillers, birthdays, and award winners.  Our school mascot, Forester, joins us as well!

Each month, a different fourth or fifth grade class hosts our Morning Program.  They choose the music, speak about our Books of the Month, help with set up and attendance, and even escort Forester in!  At some of our Morning Programs, we have grade levels do performances and we invite their families to watch.
