Fifth Graders Bring Autobiography Lesson to Life
Did you know that Zendaya, Cleopatra, Wayne Gretzky, and Manny Machado visited Ms. Mooney’s 5th grade class on the same day? Students dressed in the likeness of each legend ready to deliver the life research and highlights of their assigned historic figure.
Mason Fayda beamed with joy while wearing his favorite baseball player’s uniform and number of Manny Machado from the San Diego Padres who was signed to the Baltimore Oriels right out of high school in 1992.
Leigh McQuillan wore a beautiful gold dress and shoes which is exactly what Cleoptra would have worn during her reign as Queen of the Macedonian dynasty in Egypt. A few fun facts Leigh shared were that Cleopatra spoke nine different languages and that she wasn’t Egyptian. Leigh, however shared that she is 10 years old and loves to dance, write, and read and that B.C. historical stories are her favorite.
Additional figures presented included Olympic gymnasts, scientists, botanists, and musicians.
Sitting in on each of the presentations were students from Ms. Moeller’s second-grade class who will also soon deliver their autobiographies in the years to come.
